MENU

Relish & More serves custom-made burgers, salads, doughnuts and shakes. Most of the burgers hover around $12, but an adventurous eater could try a bison patty for $16. Each patty comes with two “relishes” or various toppings from the list of 19: an avocado spread, hot pepper bacon jam, chipotle aioli and more. Add another relish or cheese for about a dollar more.

ATMOSPHERE

The fast-casual restaurant gives its casual, relaxed ambiance through its open floor plan and self-seating. The space itself isn’t large, but there’s outside seating for those who are interested in taking in the vibe of the artsy Northwood Village.

OUR FAVORITE FOOD/PRICE

My favorite item was the cookie dough handcrafted shake ($8.17). Be warned, though, the over-the-top shakes are large and packed with flavor. It may be a good dessert to split. For entrees, I tried a mushroom burger with avocado spread and black onions on a whole wheat bun ($10.99). The mushroom and onion flavors went well together, though the patty barely stayed patty-shaped. I had to frequently shake off dripping mushrooms and avocado.

REASON TO GO

Burgers, shakes and options — what could be more American? With all the options for burgers, including two vegan patties, Relish & More is a good place to eat a traditional meal for most diets. There’s also a location in Boca Raton.

SERVICE

Friendly. I asked the server if my shake choice was good, and she gave it glowing reviews. She knew the menu well — giving me suggestions for relish toppings and chatting with me about all the shake flavors.

NOISE LEVEL

The restaurant isn’t very big, so large parties can make a lot of noise. Still, that’s expected for a Saturday night.

KID FRIENDLY

Definitely. The kid’s menu offers a mini cheeseburger, chicken pieces, mac and cheese and grilled cheese. Kids will beg mom and dad for a shake or fresh doughnuts to go.
